Luján de Cuyo
Luján de Cuyo is the department directly south of the city of Mendoza. Its wineries sit in districts such as Chacras de Coria, Mayor Drummond, Vistalba, Perdriel and Agrelo; Norton, in Perdriel, puts itself 20 minutes from the city.
Maipú
Maipú is the department southeast of the city of Mendoza. Several of its wineries in Coquimbito sit within a few kilometers of each other, and bike rental shops on Urquiza street rent bicycles for a self-guided ride between them.
Uco Valley
The Uco Valley lies south of the city of Mendoza, across the departments of Tupungato, Tunuyán and San Carlos. Tupungato is about 71 km from the city, Tunuyán 83 km and San Carlos about 103 km, so a visit is usually a full day or an overnight stay.

Buenos Aires to Mendoza
Mendoza is 1,050 km (about 650 miles) from Buenos Aires by road. Most travellers fly to Mendoza's El Plumerillo airport, 11 km (7 miles) from the city; the overnight bus takes about 13 and a half hours, and the wineries of Luján de Cuyo and Maipú are a short drive from the city.
