Mendoza
Mendoza is a province in western Argentina at the foot of the Andes, and its capital, the city of Mendoza, is 1,050 km (about 650 miles) by road from Buenos Aires. The wineries that open for visits sit in three zones: Luján de Cuyo and Maipú, which border the city to the south and southeast, and the Uco Valley, whose towns lie about 70 to 100 km (45 to 65 miles) south. Most wineries run guided tours with tastings at set times, and many serve lunch. El Plumerillo airport is 11 km (7 miles) from the city.

Buenos Aires to Mendoza
Mendoza is 1,050 km (about 650 miles) from Buenos Aires by road. Most travellers fly to Mendoza's El Plumerillo airport, 11 km (7 miles) from the city; the overnight bus takes about 13 and a half hours, and the wineries of Luján de Cuyo and Maipú are a short drive from the city.
Maipú wineries by bike
In Coquimbito, Maipú, bike rental shops on Urquiza street rent bicycles for a self-guided day between wineries. Maipu Bikes charges from ARS 20,000 per person for the day, and Trapiche, La Rural and Tempus Alba are within about 5 km (3 miles) of its shop.
