The Terminal Marítima de Puerto Vallarta is run by the port authority, Administración Portuaria Integral Puerto Vallarta. It is on Boulevard Francisco Medina Ascencio at Km 4.5, the main road into the city, opposite the Hospital San Javier Marina.
The port has three berths and can take three cruise ships at once. The terminal has taxis, driver guides, a craft market and souvenir shops.

Other excursions from the terminal
Bay tours leave from the terminal itself. The port authority lists routes to Los Arcos, Las Ánimas, Quimixto, the Marietas Islands, Caletas and Majahuitas, by pirate ship, catamaran or launch, leaving between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM and lasting 5 to 8 hours. Bay tour passengers enter by Gate 9 and pay a port fee of MXN 20 per person aged 12 to 60, separate from the tour ticket. City buses on routes 11 and 12 stop in front of the terminal and run to the Malecón and downtown.
Back on board
- Returning cruise passengers enter by Gate 3 when the ship is at Berth 1, Gate 11 at Berth 2 and Gate 17 at Berth 3.
- Bags are X-rayed and passengers pass a metal detector. Firearms, sharp objects, explosives, drinks in glass containers, drugs and uncaged pets (except guide animals) are not allowed in.
- Authorised taxis wait outside Gate 8.
- City buses: routes 11 and 12 pass the terminal on their way to and from downtown; most city routes run 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
